Norwich Fashion Week - Fashion Excess

Friday night marked the end of Norwich Fashion Week, with the highly-anticipated Fashion Excess Show. This show promised to combine live music with the catwalk, which I was super excited for. I arrived shortly before the doors opened, so I could get set up in the VIP area. For this show, the VIP drinks available were either wine or coffee cocktails, provided by Grey Seal Coffee Roasters. There were also goodie bags, with gifts provided by some of the exhibiting brands.

The show itself was so much fun. The runway was back up and the seating was gone, to add to the party vibe of the event. The first band performing was Happy Coloured Marbles, followed by the headliners, disco-pop group Ekkah. The mixture of music and fashion was so awesome, and the crowd (and models) really got into it. I really loved all the sets in this show, but was particularly impressed with Chatting Sass and Land clothing, both of which incorporated feminist and political messages in their garments and styling.

I also made two gifs from Willow & Pearl's set. Their dresses were so lovely and dreamy, with beautiful drape and movement. I just couldn't resist burst shooting a couple of their garments!

Just above the catwalk was a net full of balloons, which could only mean one thing - a balloon drop for the finale! When the balloons came down, it looked amazing (even if it did make a few models wobble as they walked down the runway)! The final brand was Ellicelydia, which produces the most beautiful lingerie I've ever seen. I really loved their pieces, especially the blush pink crushed velvet ensemble.

And with that, fashion week is over! It's been an incredible week, with the most impressive styling both on and off stage. The last time I photographed Norwich Fashion Week was... well... a while ago, and it was hosted across a variety of venues including The Forum and Epic. This year, the whole week took place at Open, and I have to say that the whole production looked a hundred times better than it did in the past. I absolutely loved taking part in Norwich Fashion Week (as exhausting as it may have been!) and really hope I get involved in some way next year. Congratulations to all the organisers! It's been awesome.
