A Fairytale Wedding Shoot at Sennowe Park, Norfolk

Towards the end of 2019, I was approached by the fabulous Stephanie Alexandra, who wanted to know if I’d like to be part of a photoshoot. The concept behind the shoot was irresistible: Steph’s eight-year-old daughter, Daisy, had drawn a beautiful image of a fairytale wedding, and Steph wanted to bring it to life with the help of a selection of local suppliers. I of course said yes, and we set to work.

We chose to shoot at the wonderful Sennowe Park, a venue I’d been dying to return to since my previous shoot. With its gorgeous Winter Garden, incredible Edwardian interior and picturesque grounds, it was the ideal location for such a shoot. When we arrived on the day in late January, we were delighted to see bright sunshine and dry weather: perfect for utilising all of the spaces available to us. Unlike my previous shoot, we were also fortunate enough to be given access to the interior rooms, some of which have been used by fashion royalty like Tim Walker and Vogue in the past – to say I was thrilled would be an understatement.

The dreamy dress and modern two-piece suit was provided by Victoria at The Bottom Drawer Bridal, from designer Bowen Dryden. The airy, layered skirt was perfect for capturing a sense of movement and dancing, while the glittery floral bodice tied in with our chosen colour scheme of dusky pinks and blues. The dress was wonderfully modelled by Ziggy, who infused the shoot with her bubbly personality and laughter even as she pulled off the fiercest poses possible. Kate, our model for the two-piece suit, brought a high-fashion edge to the shoot, while Tim, a fellow photographer, kindly stepped in as our male model to play the role of ‘groom’ perfectly beside his brides.

The incredible grazing table, filled with macarons, cookies and other goodies, was created by Imogen from Sugar Button Cakes, as well as two stunning cakes that took pride of place in the Winter Garden. To style and shape the venue we had Belles & Beaus Wedding Styling, and the fabulous Claire Carney provided a beautiful balloon display to frame the cakes. A striking flatlay was put together by Melmade Stationery, who also supplied stationery for the tablescape and a remarkable mirrored table plan. Finally, Rebecca from The Botany House created the prettiest bouquet filled with unique, bright flowers – and a truly show-stopping moon-shaped arch for the portraits in the grounds.

I absolutely loved this photoshoot, not just because of how the photographs turned out but also because I was given the opportunity to meet suppliers I’d never worked with before. Everyone that worked on this shoot was absolutely fantastic and enviably talented – and I hope I’m lucky enough to work with them again in the future.
